Job Description

We are currently seeking dedicated Remote Area Nurses for 6-12 week contracts. These roles involve delivering high-quality, evidence-based healthcare to individuals and communities in remote settings, with a special focus on Aboriginal health. If you have experience in both clinical practice and working with Aboriginal communities, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Holistic Care: Provide comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare to individuals and families using a culturally sensitive and holistic approach.
  • Health Assessments: Conduct thorough health checks and assessments in a remote setting.
  • Postnatal Support: Provide support for new mothers, including postnatal care and mental health screenings, and refer to specialist services as needed.
  • Immunisations: Administer and record immunisations in line with relevant immunisation schedules.
  • Follow-Up Care: Develop and implement strategies to ensure timely follow-up care and treatment.
  • Interagency Collaboration: Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and liaise with local health services and community support agencies.
  • Health Education: Provide health education and support to families and communities.
  • Referrals and Reporting: Coordinate referrals for specialist care, submit monthly reports, and ensure access to appropriate services.

Qualifications:

  • Highly Desired: Post Graduate Qualifications in Remote Area Nursing or a related field, REC & MEC, in date ALS/BLS
  • Experience: Proven experience in remote area nursing and Aboriginal health.
  • Registration: Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of holistic and culturally appropriate healthcare practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Administrative: Proficient in record-keeping and reporting.
