An enrolled nurse is a qualified nursing professional who provides direct patient care. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, an enrolled nurse will:

What qualifications do I need to work as an enrolled nurse?

Enrolled nurses in Australia need a Diploma of Nursing. This is a qualification obtained over two years and involves theory and practical assessments. All enrolled nurses need to be registered with AHPRA and have to hold an AHPRA number before practicing. 

To upskill and become a registered nurse, you can upgrade your Diploma of Nursing to a Bachelor of Nursing via an enrolled nursing pathway. This course takes two years to complete.
